Salt and hydration!
Even if we are drinking enough water per day according to the equation 'body weight (kg) x0.03=litres/day' it doesnt nessarily mean that it is being absorbed , and we may find ourselves constantly on the toilet as water literally passes through us. The link to helping us absorb our water better is salt. Water , salt and potassium regulate the amount of water in the body, therefore an imbalance of any one of these 3 can be detremental to the body and its function. It therefore stands to reason that we should be adding a small sprinkle of salt to our filtered drinking water. The type of salt we use is important as normal table salt won't do the trick. We need salt with a high minereal content such as naturally occuring sea salt or himalayan rock salt. A small amount in our water will help the body 'hold onto' the water we consume.
