Band-ITS Core is the latest Strength and Conditioning Program from Strength4Dance. Designed by Sally Harrison, registered Dance Physiotherapist, this online workshop will teach dance teachers, pilates instructors and fitness professionals all they need to know about the dancing body. Upon completion of the course, you will have the knowledge and repertoire to teach the Band-ITS Core Strength and Conditioning Program to students from all dance genres and abilities.

You will learn:

  • How to effectively mobilise the dancing body to achieve safe range and flexibility
  • How the muscles, tendons, bones and fascia all work together and how to use this to strengthen the dancing body
  • How to design great (& safe!) conditioning classes using the Band-ITS kit, including progressions & regressions for different levels
  • How to use accurate cueing & hands-on corrections for optimal technique

Implementing Band-ITS Core conditioning classes in your studio:

  • Creates safe mobility and flexibility in all bodies through use of fascial release techniques
  • Allows students to isolate and activate the ‘correct’ muscles for different exercises
  • Helps students ‘switch off’ unnecessary muscles activation or ‘gripping’ that can lead to poor technique, tight muscles or even injury
  • Builds strong, lean muscle whilst developing stamina and overall fitness
  • Develops a healthy and injury-resistant body for a lifetime of dance

Welcome to Band-ITS Barre Core learning course. On completion of this course, you will have knowledge and repertoire to conduct strength and conditioning classes using safe resistance.

This programme includes:

  • 6.5 hours of online content – anatomy, training principles and repertoire.
  • A 61-page colour manual to accompany the learning.
  • A lower limb Band-ITS kit (posted the day you purchase the course).
  • 2 small exams and certificate of completion.

I recommend at least 4-5 hours of self-practice outside of this course to learn the exercises, practice the variations and try the different resistances. Your certificate is reflective of this.
Access to the content will be released at intervals to give you time to absorb and practice it: with full completion after 4 weeks.

To roll this programme, the studio can bulk-purchase equipment for their students – however we recommend that students purchase their own lower limb kit for use in class and at home.
